Web history began in March 1989 when Tim Barner-Lee who worked at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, known as CERN (the European pour la Consei Recherce Nuclaire) located in Geneva, Switzerland, filed a protocol (a procedure to communicate) Internet information distribution system that is used for a variety of information among physicists.
The protocol was then known as the World Wide Web and the protocol developed by the World Wide Web Consorcium (W3C). As is known, the W3C is a consortium of several organizations interested in the development of various standards relating to the Web.
